Allari Naresh’s new film, 12A Railway Colony released this week, and it is already heading for disaster. Not a single show in Hyderabad is in fast filling status on its first Saturday, a clear sign of where it’s heading. With this release, Allari Naresh has now delivered six flops in a row since Naandi, which marked his shift towards serious films.
Pulling off back-to-back flops like this is no small matter -it puts immense pressure on producers, distributors, and the entire film ecosystem, not just the actor. While one can sympathize with the hero, the impact extends far beyond him. Is Allari Naresh being careless in picking scripts, or is he misjudging opportunities? Judging by his choices, he seems to be making a genuine attempt to deliver something, but as we have noted earlier, the results are not coming through.
His next project under Sithara Entertainments ‘Alcohol’ is also a serious film, and beyond that, he has repeatedly mentioned plans to return to his strength -family entertainers.
One can only hope he finds at least one successful release soon to stabilize his career and create momentum for his upcoming films.
