Allu Arjun vs Mega: Will ‘Boycott Pushpa 2’ Affect the Film?

The fire that started in the Mega Camp when Allu Arjun went to Nandhyal in May is still burning.

Every issue usually has some life-time but this issue seems to be never ending. Someone or the other are adding fuel to the fire every now and then.

The latest fuel is a Placard at Pushpa 2 Chennai event the other day. The placard has a message insulting Pawan Kalyan.

A section of Mega fans are deeply hurt and feel there is a provocation from Allu Arjun’s side periodically. Mega fans are on an unimaginable high with the political success of Pawan Kalyan after the recent elections.

From 100% Strike Rate to the recent Maharashtra campaign success, Pawan Kalyan is giving continuous highs for these people politically. They are unable to take dissent and that too from someone who has grown with the support of the family. Publicly, they are declaring they will boycott watching Pushpa 2 in theaters.

They are very vocal and are also trying to influence the others of the same fandom and community to take the same decision.

As the release date is drawing closer, there are discussions about how impactful this boycott will be.

Definitely the number is sizeable but nobody can really quantify the number. It is expected to be sizeable because the fandom itself is so big.

Can the boycott call impact? Pushpa 2 is a mammoth project. It has become massive after the success of the first part in Hindi.

The boycott call may not make a visible impact if Sukumar delivers to the expectations.

If the talk is disappointing, the boycott call may impact the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. To what extent? That is again not quantifiable now. That will be inversely proportional to the talk.

There is also a possibility of having a different result in Telugu and Hindi like the first part.

If the movie, however, is in the range of what Allu Arjun hyped the other day, this opposing boycott Pushpa 2 section will only end up in disappointment.
