A new chapter in Hyderabad’s cinema scene is about to begin with the grand opening of Allu Cinemas on March 19, 2026. The new multiplex will open with two big film releases, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge and Ustaad Bhagat Singh. The management recently confirmed the launch on social media and hinted that the theatre aims to offer audiences an extraordinary movie experience.
The opening is expected to be a major moment for movie lovers in Hyderabad. The timing of the launch is seen as strategic because it coincides with the release of two highly anticipated films, especially Dhurandhar 2 which is expected to be a nationwide phenomenon. With huge excitement around Dhurandhar 2, the multiplex is likely to see huge crowds during its opening week.
Even though the official opening is set for March 19, the team had already conducted a soft launch and technical testing earlier this year on January 4. The trial event was attended by Allu Arjun along with members of his family. During this preview, the theatre’s projection systems, sound setup, and other facilities were tested to ensure everything runs smoothly before welcoming the public.
Allu Cinemas is located inside the large Allu Studios complex in Kokapet, close to Hyderabad’s Financial District.
One of the biggest attractions of the theatre is its flagship Dolby Cinema screen. The screen is around 75 feet wide, making it the largest Dolby Cinema screen in India and reportedly the second largest in the world. It is also believed to be the biggest Dolby Cinema screen anywhere in Asia.
The theatre is equipped with advanced technology like Dolby Vision 3D projection, which delivers extremely sharp and vibrant visuals, and Dolby Atmos sound systems that create immersive audio from every direction.
With such high-end features, Allu Cinemas is expected to quickly become one of Hyderabad’s most premium places to watch movies, setting a new benchmark for theatre experiences in the region.
However, its location has also sparked some discussion. Kokapet and the surrounding Financial District have rapidly developed in recent years, with several new skyscrapers, residential towers, and luxury villas coming up. Because of this, many believe the multiplex will mainly cater to the affluent IT crowd living in that area. In contrast, audiences from older parts of Hyderabad, including Koti, Abids, Narayanguda, Himayatnagar, Lakdikapul, the Old City, Nampally, and Secunderabad, may find it difficult to travel that far regularly to experience films at this premium venue.
