Dhurandhar 2 Advance Bookings: SRK Records in Danger?

Dhurandhar 2 advance booking rush

The advance booking for Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has begun on a fantastic note, suggesting that the film could be heading toward one of the biggest openings ever seen in Indian cinema. Ticket sales opened on Saturday morning soon after the trailer was released, and the response from audiences was immediate and overwhelming.

Within just three hours of bookings opening, tickets worth around Rs. 5 crores were reportedly sold across India for the film’s opening day alone. What is more impressive is that the pace of bookings has not slowed down. Instead, sales have continued to rise as more people rush to secure seats for the first day.

A large portion of these early sales came from the country’s biggest multiplex chains. Out of the Rs. 5 crores collected in the first few hours, around Rs. 3 crores came from leading chains like PVR INOX and Cinépolis. The remaining bookings came from other theatres and online platforms across the country. On BookMyShow, the film has reportedly been selling more than 8,000 tickets every hour, which clearly shows the level of excitement among moviegoers.

In terms of ticket numbers, the film has already sold around 35,000 tickets in national multiplex chains within the first few hours. Trade analysts believe this number could easily cross 1 lakh tickets within the first 24 hours of advance bookings if the current trend continues.

For context, some of the highest advance bookings in national chains for opening day, including Hollywood films, are:

1. Avengers: Endgame 975K tickets
2. Baahubali 2 (Hindi) 650K tickets
3. Jawan 557K tickets
4. Pathaan 556K tickets
5. Spider-Man: No Way Home 550K tickets
6. KGF Chapter 2 (Hindi) 515K tickets
7. Avengers: Infinity War 492K tickets
8. Animal 456K tickets
9. War 410K tickets
10. Pushpa 2 (Hindi) 401K tickets

While the all-time record of Avengers: Endgame appears almost untouchable, the immediate benchmark for Dhurandhar 2 will be to cross the early advance numbers of films like Shah Rukh Khan‘s Jawan which sold around 1,50,000 tickets in the first 24 hours in PVR INOX and Cinepolis.

Multiplexes are also planning large scale preview shows, with some theatres reportedly dedicating the final two shows of the day exclusively to the film. Early estimates suggest the film could earn around Rs. 20 crores from paid previews alone. If the momentum continues, Dhurandhar 2 could even target a Rs. 100 crore net opening day at the box office.

With such massive advance booking trends and unprecedented hype, all eyes are now on Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge as it gears up for release.
