A compromise has been finally reached among the producers and DSPs (Qube Cinema Technologies controls the majority) as the strike was going nowhere and none were benefitting. The DSPs have agreed to reduce the existing rates to nearly thirty-five percent. The producers association has agreed to it.
The strike was initiated on March 1st, and theatres did not show anything over the first two days. Later a small relief was given with non-Telugu language screening, and now it is back to normal. All the scheduled releases will arrive as planned and no new adjustments are required. Maybe everyone knew all along what was going to happen as none really showed any signs of worry or panic.
On the other hand, Tamil film producers council made an urgent press releasing confirming to continue the strike further in their state.
