Prabhas Karthik Gattamneni New Film Update
Reports about Prabhas reuniting with Darling director Karunakaran may turn out to be false. Initial reports claimed that People Media Factory, which produced The Raja Saab, was planning another film with Prabhas and Karunakaran. Instead, Mirai director Karthik Gattamneni is preparing a thriller for Prabhas, which People Media Factory may produce.
The news of a possible reunion with Karunakaran had received mixed reactions. He delivered several romantic hits in the 1990s and 2000s, with Darling (2010) being his last genuine success. His films after that failed to make an impact, and he has stayed away from the mainstream for several years. Many fans were therefore not convinced about Prabhas working with him again.
But Karthik Gattamneni‘s name raises a different concern. While Mirai gave him some recognition, fans are unsure whether he can handle a big-budget film with a pan-India star like Prabhas. Prabhas has faced setbacks with directors such as Radhakrishna Kumar, Om Raut, Sujeeth, and Maruthi. Fans do not want another risky combination.
Prabhas’ busy schedule adds to the concern. Fauzi and Spirit are expected to release in 2027, while the Karthik Gattamneni film and Kalki 2898 AD sequel may take longer to complete. If these films face delays, 2028 could pass without a Prabhas release.
For now, the Karunakaran reunion appears to be false news. The proposed film with Karthik Gattamneni is the one to watch.
