Aneet Padda’s sister Reet Padda has sparked a fresh controversy with her remarks on Dhurandhar. In a recent post, she described the film as a government friendly project.
Reet Padda stated that the film’s narrative appears designed to favour a particular government. She added that it feels like an attempt to gain brownie points rather than present a balanced story.
Her criticism did not stop with Dhurandhar. She also referred to films like The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story, claiming they amplify limited truths into broader narratives.
According to her, such portrayals risk targeting specific communities. She expressed concern about how selective storytelling can shape public perception.
At the same time, Reet highlighted the struggles of films like Punjab ’95. She suggested that projects not aligned with dominant political narratives often face challenges in release and distribution.
She further remarked that Dhurandhar appears more like a proposition letter for a political party than an entertainment film. She also alleged that it benefits from strong political access and support.
Another key point in her statement was an indirect criticism of Priyanka Chopra. Reet questioned her silence on such matters at global platforms like the Oscars.
Reet Padda expressed that celebrities should use their influence to address important issues. She believes their voices can create a meaningful impact on society.
She also noted that many celebrities avoid sensitive topics. According to her, this reflects a lack of strong commitment towards representing their people.
