Ravipudi Confirms Template Making a Comeback

Director Anil Ravipudi’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam, a festival release, has emerged as a true blockbuster this Sankranti, leaving no room for debate.

While the film continues to rake in collections, Anil Ravipudi has hinted, either directly or indirectly, at a follow-up in the same template—once again targeting the Sankranti festival.

Though he may or may not have been entirely serious, there is a strong possibility of him revisiting this successful formula, particularly given the film’s impressive box office performance.

Producer Dil Raju is unlikely to let go of such a lucrative opportunity. Even if Anil Ravipudi wants to explore different projects in the future, Dil Raju’s influence might bring him back to this formula.

While a section of the audience dismisses the film as a typical “festival template” movie, capitalizing on the holiday season, the fact remains that it has successfully drawn large crowds to theaters. This achievement cannot be underestimated, and it is where Anil Ravipudi earns his due credit.

Though some viewers prioritize quality writing and storytelling, what truly matters to producers are the numbers, and this film is delivering just that.

Considering the success of this venture, it wouldn’t be surprising if a sequel—similar to how F3 followed F2—is made. Whether it’s titled Sankranthiki Vasthunam or something else, a comeback with the same hero under the same banner seems highly possible.
