Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated movie Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, was released in theatres on August 14 and received mixed reviews from both audiences and critics. However, one element that stood out was the music and background score composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Despite the criticism of the film, many viewers praised Anirudh Ravichander’s songs and background score, stating that he always delivers his best when composing for Superstar Rajinikanth. His music continues to be one of the most talked-about aspects of the film.
However, even though his songs and background scores often turn into chartbusters, several of the films he has composed for in recent years have not performed well at the box office. Many of those projects ended up as either average earners or outright disasters.
From Indian 2 to Coolie, many people have pointed out that the movies he worked on failed to reach the expected success. This has led to a belief among some that there is a so-called “curse” where films with his music end up as failures.
Industry voices suggest that while Anirudh Ravichander always gives his best, he should focus more on selecting his projects carefully. If a movie fails commercially, even a composer’s quality work may not get the recognition it deserves.
Nevertheless, in Coolie, his background scores and songs have once again proved to be one of the strongest pillars of the film. As the biggest fan of Superstar Rajinikanth, Anirudh has once again delivered music that stands out despite the film’s mixed response.
