Another Disaster On OTT In Just Three Weeks

Samantha‘s historical romance, Shaakuntalam, directed by Gunasekhar released last month on April 14. The film turned out to be a non-starter right from its first show and emerged as one of the biggest disasters in recent times. Reportedly, Dil Raju lost more than 20 cores on this project.

The film has now started streaming on Prime Video just three weeks after its theatrical release. Shaakuntalam‘s OTT debut was speculated to be on April 19, but the film silently started streaming last night itself.

There was no official announcement either from Prime Video or from the team of Shaakuntalam. Looks like they didn’t want to embarrass themselves further by announcing its arrival on OTT.

Shaakuntalam also marked the acting debut of Allu Arjun’s daughter, Arha Arjun, who was the only one to receive positive reception from the audience and critics. The movie also features Dev Mohan, Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Gauthami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Allu Arha in significant roles.
