AP gets 1350 Cr Power deal from Center

Union Government has agreed to sanction 1350 Crores to Andhra Pradesh for establishing Solar and Wind Power Lines through National Green Energy fund. This amount was sanctioned as Andhra Pradesh is one of three states selected for 24 Hours uninterrupted Power Supply Pilot Project. Center is in all praises for the steps taken by the state under this scheme.

The Center also agreed to increase the number of Solar Agricultural power sets from 4000 to 8000. Center will bear 30% of these pump sets cost as grants (Interest free loans). Chandrababu also brought to the notice of the Center about the shortage of coal for the existing Thermal Power Plants in the state. Center has agreed to provide 10 Lakh Tonnes of Coal from Western Coal Fields.

Andhra Pradesh government has requested the Center to help modernize the existing Thermal Power Stations in the State which are serving from more than 20 years.State officials say the Center has responded favorably to their request and asked them to come up with clear proposals.
