Audience Confused: Why Salaar and Not Pushpa 2?

Salaar was given an A certificate during its release because of the abundance of Violence. There were no sexual scenes in the whole movie, yet it had the ‘adult’ rating.

But the case is very different for Pushpa 2. It has been given a U/A certificate which means people from all age groups may watch it in theaters. But the song is loaded with raunchy content.

Just like ‘Oo Oo Antava’ from Pushpa, the second movie has sexy songs like ‘Kissik’ and more. There are plenty of double meaning dialogues.

Fans are surprised at why this discrimination is happening. They assume that it must have something to do with how the movie teams deal with the censor board.

Pushpa 2 is getting huge audiences all over India and there is obviously a major part of the audience that is below 18 and would not have been able to watch the movie if the certification were otherwise.

But probably Salaar could have gathered some more money if it were given a U/A certification. Even families do not tend to watch a movie together if a movie does not have a U/A certificate.
