Avunu 2 makers –sensible or stupid?

Avunu 2 is the new film coming from director Ravi Babu. This is a sequel to the successful film Avunu that released three years ago. The film is crucial for the director to make further films as his last few films after Avunu have been major duds at the box office.

Knowing how critical success of the film is we jump straight to the point. The film Avunu 2 has been ready for a very long time. But the makers of the film kept on delaying it as they wanted to get an open release without any division of attention. They have got half of their wish fulfilled but it’s related to the other half that we ask this question.

Avunu 2 is now releasing just few days before the release of a film like Son of Sathyamurty. It is a biggie that everyone is really looking forward to. Would it be therefore fair to assume that the makers have been stupid?

Now there is a sensible way to look at it too. The film belongs to a different genre from SOS and there are no other threatening films after SOS. So if Avunu 2 gets good talk it could surely look at long run in summer. Already there is a buzz in the industry regarding the positive test screenings. Would that mean this was a calculated and sensible move from the makers? Whatever it is we will know within few hours time.
