BB2 Correction Or Burning Fingers? -Biggies 2018

There is a total of five big films that are either on floors or are soon going to floors, and all these films are going to have Baahubali corrections. The films are 2.0 and Padmavati which are on sets and Sanghamitra, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and Thugs Of Hindostan which will go on to sets soon.

All the films mentioned above are big-budgeted epic films made for theatrical viewing. 2.0 was launched long ago was supposed to release this year itself but post the humongous response of Baahubali 2, the unit postponed the release to next year to get “International” standard visual effects. Similarly, recently there were whispers about Padmavati budget being escalated to match the high standards of Baahubali.

Sanghamitra is another film which is copying the Baahubali formula. First, an announcement came as a big budget epic on Baahubali lines, and now it is going to have two parts, and we need not say where the idea might have come. In the past, a film called Ponnar Shankar was made in Tamil following SS Rajamouli’s Magadheera. It bit the dust without a trace.

And last but not the least, an Aamir Khan film and Chiranjeevi film too are being mounted on epic scales and the makers looking at the phenomenal response of Baahubali have put no limit on the budget. One hopes that they remember it is the content that needs to be strong more than the visuals and that alone will pull the audience to cinemas after the initial fad of the visual wears off. Only time will tell us the fate of these films and right now all we can do is wait!
