Babu Bangaram – Mixed Response For Advances

Much is expected from the new Victory Venkatesh starrer Babu Bangaram in terms of box office. It is the actor’s first film in ages which is appealing to the youth and also has a hot combination in-form of director Maruthi. However, the advance booking so far has a different story to tell.

To put it mildly, the advance booking is mixed, with the response in Vijayawada, Krishna territory being the best. It is clear here that it is the pushkar effect. Can it also be the reason for less enthusiastic response in other areas, especially Hyderabad? Like Sankranthi where Nizam gets dull initially due to people leaving for Andhra to their homes. Is that the same case now for pushkars as well?

The opening which was initially expected to be close to 7 Cr or slightly more has been drastically brought down. Now the trade is expecting a best case scenario of 6 Cr (lower end being 5 Cr) based on advances unless there is a dramatic pick up from morning shows on release day.
