2nd case filed to stop the film's release!

Upcoming movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’ encountered some trouble earlier regarding the ‘Pinga’ song featuring leading actresses Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone which allegedly displayed the historical facts incorrectly. The plea was dismissed but the film seems to have another case filed over its authenticity, and this time the very own descendants of Peshwa Bajirao, the first, and his wife Mastani have filed it.

In the plea filed at the Indore division of Madhya Pradesh High Court, they claim that the movie is portraying the Maratha warriors in bad light. The petition will probably cause a delay in the film’s release, with the current release date being 18th December. A group of four people who claimed to be the successors of Bajirao alleged that the movie’s depiction of the renowned warrior and his family has “hurt their reputation”.

According to Awais Bahadur, one of the petitioners, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’, featuring actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Priyanka Chopra, has altered the actual story and is objectionable to them.
