Sankranthi 2026 has turned into a grand celebration for theatres, but not every film is benefitting equally from the festive rush. Ravi Teja’s latest release Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi is clearly struggling to attract audiences, despite receiving better word of mouth than his recent disasters.
At the top of the Sankranthi race is Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which is creating records at the box office. It remains the first choice of audiences. Sharwanand’s Nari Nari Naduma Murari has surprised everyone. The film has seen steady growth in occupancies, increased show counts, and is now clearly heading toward a big success.
In contrast, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi is not seeing the same response. Considering Ravi Teja’s star image, his film should ideally have been the third biggest release of the season after Raja Saab and MSG. However, his recent run of back-to-back flops seems to have badly affected audience trust.
While the public talk for Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi has been average to one time watch, still much better than Ravi Teja’s recent disasters, it has not translated into footfalls. Normally, such word of mouth is enough to pull crowds during Sankranthi, but this time, audiences are clearly not showing interest in Ravi Teja.
In its first two days, the film managed to collect only around Rs.4 crore share worldwide, which is very poor given the festive advantage. The breakeven target is around Rs.20 crore.
Adding to this, screenshots circulating on social media show a clear difference in audience interest. According to BookMyShow data shared online, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi was selling around 3,000 tickets per hour, while Nari Nari Naduma Murari was selling close to 5,000 tickets per hour on Thursday morning. Many feel the audience has given up on Ravi Teja.
