‘Not-So-Lucky’ Sister Sentiment?

Megastar Chiranjeevi is coming up with a remake of the Tamil film Vedalam titled Bholaa Shankar. In the film, Keerthy Suresh plays the role of Chiru’s sister.

Keerthy Suresh played the role of Superstar Rajinikanth not so long ago in Annatthhe. The film was a complete misfire and a box office dud. Keethy Suresh’s melodramatic performance also turned off the audience. The sister sentiment scenes turned out to be a major bore in Annaatthe.

Chiranjeevi also faced a disaster in the sister-sentiment genre around three decades ago in the form of Lankeswarudu. Touted as the 100th film by Dasari Narayana Rao, the much-hyped film flopped badly at the box office.

Now Chiranjeevi and Keerthy Suresh have teamed up for Bholaa Shankar, directed by Meher Ramesh.

Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself this time and Bholaa Shankar emerges as a big hit at the box office.
