Big Example of Star Power Vs Non-Star

Two films came to theatres this Deepavali aka Vijay Ilayapathy’s ‘Bigil’ and Karthi’s ‘Khaidi‘. While the former opened to mixed talk, the latter opened to an excellent talk and also superb word of mouth.

However, ‘Khaidi’ can’t beat even the first day collections of Vijay’s ‘Bigil’ even with the lifetime run of the movie. This is a curious case that shows how stardom and star power are very crucial and matter the most for a spin at the box-office.

This above analysis isn’t only about the Tamil versions of the above-mentioned movies but also the Telugu dubbing versions of the movies. It’s not just the product that is enough for the footfalls but even the star power.

Though Vijay was in all the good elements in ‘Bigil‘ as a star who can command huge footfalls, Karthi has actually delivered one of his career’s best performance. But, that didn’t reflect in the collections of the movie.
