Tv serial script turned in to Blockbuster film!

We all have a soft spot for the infamous thug Munnabhai, more so because of the brilliant portrayal of the character by actor Sanjay Dutt and Chiru in it’s Telugu remake. However, director Rajkumar Hirani has recently revealed information about the film that could have changed its entire future.

Apparently, the initial plan for the ‘Munnabhai’ series was to make a Television show with renowned actor R Madhavan, of “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” fame, as the protagonist.

But Madhavan’s unavailability at that time caused the storyline to be pursued as a film instead of a dramedy TV series and we are very grateful for that. Madhavan, who is currently in news for his upcoming movie ‘Saala Khadoos’ with Hirani, also agreed adding that he knew that a film based on that storyline had a better future during a press meet.
