Salaar is putting on a fiery run at the box office and expectedly so, given its mass appeal. The film has now entered the list of all time top 3 opening weekend grosses.
The film has reportedly grossed in the range of 320 crores at the global box office. This is next only to RRR and Baahubali 2.
Thus far, Salaar has recovered 50% of the theatrical business in the first weekend and this is a positive start for the Prabhas starrer. The tally will hold up well today also, given that this is a holiday Monday(Christmas).
The real challenge will be to carry the momentum over the next week. The second-week collections will decide whether the film can breach the breakeven tally and even reap profits. A strong second weekend, New Year’s Eve will do a world of good for the film.
Salaar has no major competition for the coming weekend, and through till the Sankranthi season. It is holding its own in Hindi despite the clash with Dunki. A lot will depend on the Hindi run of the film. A long run here will help the box office prospects very well.
