Censor Board Revamps Logo & Outdated Rules

A new logo and design for the Central Board of Central Certification were unveiled by the Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar in Mumbai. That means the new certificates issued from will have the new design of the logo.

All the censor certificates for the Indian films issued from 1952 have been digitalized. In the new certificate, the rating of the film will be in yellow. The CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi has actually conceptualized this new logo design for CBFC.

The new design includes a QR code that producers can scan to access about their films. The Information & Broadcasting Ministry’s intent was to revamp several things about the CBFC after receiving a lot of criticism for being outdated.

Besides the Union MInister, the CBFC chief, several Bollywood celebrities including Vidya Balan were present at the logo unveiling event held in Mumbai. The design change is not for not just the face value but it has a functional value according to Prasoon Joshi.
