Center cheats AP by cutting down Railway Zone!

In a major jolt to Andhra Pradesh particularly Uttarandhra, reports suggest that Center is resorting to dirty politics by granting Special Railway Zone to Andhra Pradesh but at the same time benefiting Odisha indirectly. Odisha’s East coast will be getting a new division, Raigarh which will have more than half of the current Waltair division. Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts will almost go in to Raigarh division.

The new zone in Andhra Pradesh will have the remaining part of Waltair division, Guntakal, Vijayawada and Guntur district. Since major stations in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam will still remain in Odisha control, the Uttarandhra people will have no benefit of the special railway zone.

From several years, Odisha is extending the trains starting from Visakhapatnam till Bhubaneswar and is robbing of our passengers’ advantage. Already trains like Prashanti and Vishaka Express which were to benefit AP people is now totally under the control of Odisha. Its time for MPs to exert pressure on Center!
