Vrushakarma Synopsis: Dil Raju & Chay’s Jackpot or Gamble?

Vrushakarma Dil Raju Distribution Deal

Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming mythological thriller Vrushakarma has landed a massive theatrical distribution deal, with Dil Raju acquiring the Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka rights. The deal has raised expectations around the film, but the real test will be whether its content lives up to the growing buzz.

According to reports, Dil Raju secured the three-state theatrical rights for Rs. 38 crores, with an additional Rs. 5 crores as a recoverable amount. Another industry account puts the overall deal at Rs. 45 crores, including Rs. 5 crores described as refundable. The exact financial structure has not been officially confirmed.

Sithara Entertainments producer Naga Vamsi was reportedly interested in acquiring the rights and was believed to be close to finalizing the deal. However, Dil Raju eventually emerged as the distributor after reportedly watching the film and gaining confidence in its output.

Vrushakarma follows a treasure hunter, an obsessed archaeologist, and a history student as they attempt to decode ancient cave carvings and uncover a prophecy linked to royal lineage and an impending apocalypse. The film is expected to have a runtime of around 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Dil Raju’s strong distribution network could help Vrushakarma secure a wide release across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. However, the scale of the deal also puts pressure on the film to deliver strong theatrical returns. If the reported deal is accurate, the film might need to collect Rs. 90-100 crores gross just in the Telugu states to reach breakeven.

Directed by Karthik Dandu, the film is produced by BVSN Prasad and Sukumar under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 4, 2026.

The premise looks promising, but the film needs phenomenal word of mouth to recover its investment and emerge as the biggest grosser of Naga Chaitanya’s career, surpassing Thandel.
