Child Actress Asked to Compromise?

Existence of casting couch in the glamour industry is an open secret and it’s also a known thing that we keep hearing actresses opening up with their experiences when they were asked to compromise. The latest confession came from an actress who had been a child artiste in television serials.

She was a popular name with her telly shows aka ‘Khichdi’, ‘Mrs Tendulkar’ and ‘Baa Bahu Aur Baby’ on national television. The actress’ name is Richa Badhra who didn’t want her reputation to be tarnished that she earned as a child artist. So, she rejected the offer to compromise with the director when she auditioned for a role post her marriage. It’s real pity that an actress left her profession because of the casting couch.

Besides her casting couch experience, the actress was also body shamed as she was on a bit heavier side. Body shaming is also one of the menaces in the glamour industry where the actresses are expected to always be fit, healthy and slim. However, there a few actresses like Vidya Balan who didn’t abide by the rules set up by the fashion police.
