Why Megastar Chiranjeevi Suddenly Turned Jobless?

Chiranjeevi’s upcoming lineup has suddenly entered an uncertain phase, with no clear updates. The momentum given by Sankranthi blockbuster Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu has begun to fade, and no clarity about his next set of films has left fans confused and clueless.

The biggest concern right now is #Mega158, directed by Bobby. Despite reports that the script is ready and casting is largely in place, the project continues to face repeated delays in getting off the ground.

The main issue now seems to be Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, which has disrupted the plans of KVN Productions. The film’s HD print was recently leaked online, and that has badly hit its box office prospects. Beyond hardcore Vijay fans, expecting collections from Jana Nayagan doesn’t seem practical now.

Because of this setback, KVN Productions is in doldrums, and that has directly affected the upcoming Chiranjeevi-Bobby project. The film was initially planned to go on floors from April 20, 2026. Chiranjeevi was all set to play a powerful mafia leader, with the story set against a Kolkata backdrop. But now, the launch has been put on hold.

With this delay, timelines are clearly slipping. At this point, a Sankranti 2027 release looks almost impossible.

At the same time, there is still no official clarity on the long-delayed Vishwambhara, produced by UV Creations. While several release dates, including July 10, are floating online, none have been confirmed. Industry talk suggests that ongoing VFX work is the real reason behind the delay, not scheduling conflicts.

The uncertainty does not end there.

Chiranjeevi’s proposed film with Srikanth Odela is also unlikely to start anytime soon. The director is fully focused on The Paradise, starring Nani, which he is aiming to release around August. With reports hinting at a possible postponement to December, Srikanth Odela’s priority is clearly to finish that project, leaving no room for Chiranjeevi’s project as of now.

For now, Chiranjeevi is kind of jobless and in a waiting phase.

There is still a small window of hope. Industry insiders suggest that #Mega158 could begin regular shooting later this month if financial and logistical issues are sorted out. Once the project officially goes on floors and budgets are locked, the film is expected to move quickly.
