Christmas Week: Period, Thriller & Horror Fight at BO

The Christmas weekend has once again turned into a packed box office battleground. Traditionally known for strong footfalls, this festive period has attracted several releases. While no massive star driven films are arriving, competition remains intense with content led projects dominating theatres.

More than half a dozen films are releasing during Christmas week. Most of them are relying on strong storytelling instead of star power or heavy budgets. This has made the final theatrical race of the year highly unpredictable.

Among the releases, Champion has emerged as the most anticipated film. It stars Roshan Meka, son of actor Srikanth, who earlier appeared in Nirmala Convent and Pelli SandaD. Though Pelli SandaD saw moderate success, Roshan earned praise for his screen presence.

Roshan chose to wait patiently before signing his next project. Champion is produced under the Swapna Cinemas banner and is positioned as a distinct and ambitious film. The makers appear confident about its content driven appeal.

Directed by Pradeep Advaitham, Champion is set in the Nizam era. The teaser and trailer have made a strong impact. The budget exceeds Roshan’s current market, reflecting faith in the story and execution.

Another notable release is Shambhala, starring Aadi Saikumar. After being viewed largely as an OTT actor, Aadi returns with a content driven thriller. The film carries divine and mystery elements similar to Karthikeya.

The promotional material of Shambhala has generated curiosity among viewers. Aadi Saikumar is hopeful that this project will mark a turning point. The film aims to deliver suspense backed by mythology and intrigue.

Dhandoraa, featuring Shivaji in a key role, is positioned as a hard hitting social drama. The film focuses on caste related issues. Its trailer dialogues have resonated strongly with audiences.

The horror genre joins the festive race with Eesha, presented by Bunny Vasu and Vamsi Nandipati. The team promises intense horror moments. Promotional content suggests a focus on fear driven storytelling.

Also releasing is the dubbed version of Vrusshabha starring Mohanlal. Other films like Patang, Mark starring Sudeep, and Bad Girls add to the crowded lineup. Expectations remain moderate for these titles.

With such varied genres on display, audience choice will decide the winners. The Christmas box office battle promises surprises. The coming days will reveal which films manage to stand out.
