‘Cigar’ troubles Janatha Garage star

Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal’s 2012 movie ‘Karma Yodha isn’t stopping to trouble him because of the film posters featuring Mohanlal holding a cigar in his hand. This is against the rules and hence a criminal case was booked on him for offending law.

The latest update on the Janata Garage actor is that Mohanlal has approached Kerala High Court to drop the case against him regarding the poster. Since, posing with a cigar in hand is like advertising the tobacco products, the strict rules in Kerala aren’t providing any respite for the actor.

Though Mohanlal argued that he is only an actor in the film and hence he isn’t responsible as he isn’t the director or producer of the film. But the prosecution argued that the poster is the violation of Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade, Commerce, production, supply and distribution Act.
