Coastal Andhra gamblers head to Sri Lanka!

Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka is slowly becoming a hub to gamblers. Until now, gamblers of Coastal Andhra especially from Vizag, East and West Godavari districts head to Goa. But the availability of hand played casinos in Colombo is driving them there.

The gamblers are being attracted to Colombo after the local casino dens are offering customized packages. Numerous local travel agents have cropped up in Vishakapatnam for facilitating these casino tours.

Sri Lanka has ‘On Arrival Visa’ for Indian tourists which is making things very easy. Given that there is no direct flight from Vishakapatnam to Colombo, they are going to Sri Lanka via Chennai. Sri Lankan Airlines recently visited Vizag to conduct a feasibility study to introduce a direct flight from Vizag to Colombo.
