Confirmed: SPB One Last Time For This Super Biggie

Legendary Singer SP Balasubrahmanyan is no more. He breathed his last earlier in the day. The fact that we, as an audience and music lover, will not be able to listen to him again in a new work is the saddest part. Well, here is a small update that could bring the sadness down a notch.

SP Balasubrahmanyam can be heard one last time. Official confirmation has come with few images as well. And what’s more, it will be for a legendary combination.

The combo is that of SP Balasubrahmanyam and Superstar Rajinikanth. The intro songs of Rajinikanth over the decades have gained tremendous prominence. These songs were made mass chartbusters and timeless classics, at the same time, by SPB’s singing. They are coming together for Annaatthe.

Music director D Imman has recorded the song and it will be most probably the last time we will hear SP Balasubrahmanyam sing (for a new original song).

It is unplanned, though. Annaatthe was meant to be a Diwali 2020 release and got postponed due to coronavirus. But, what a fitting farewell it would be to the legendary singer, cinematically. Rest assured there will be mass hysteria like never before when this song comes on the big screen.

Siva of Veeram, Vedalam, and Viswasam fame directs Annaatthe. Sun Pictures produces the film which has Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Khushbu as female leads.
