Court : A Test of Nani’s Judgment and Credibility

Nani, known for selectively producing small niche films under his Wall Poster banner, is back with another interesting small film. This time, it’s a courtroom drama titled Court – State Vs. A Nobody.

While promoting Court – State Vs. A Nobody, Nani promised the moon to the audience and the media, stating that this film is not just good but one of the greatest. He even went on to claim that it is among the greatest courtroom dramas ever made. He didn’t just use the word good—he insisted on great.

He also made bold statements, such as asking audiences to avoid his next release, HIT 3, in theaters if Court – State Vs. A Nobody fails to impress them.

In today’s world, audiences don’t just look at heroes—they also judge how they promote films. Their credibility is at stake when they make grand promises but fail to deliver. Some of Nani’s contemporaries have faced backlash for offering the moon but delivering dust. Once credibility is lost, there’s no recovering from it.

With Court – State Vs. A Nobody set for a special premiere in Hyderabad, all eyes are on the first Court – State Vs. A Nobody reviews. If Nani’s judgment is on point and the film delivers as he promised, his word will carry weight for HIT 3 and future projects as well. Otherwise, it will be a different story.

If a small film like Court – State Vs. A Nobody works in theaters, it signals a positive shift for concept-driven, story-based emotional dramas in the OTT era.

Court – State Vs. A Nobody is undoubtedly a goodwill film for Nani, but the real question is—will it be just a token goodwill project, or will it truly live up to his claim of being the greatest courtroom drama ever made in Tollywood?
