‘After ‘Bommarillu’, this is the great film’

The occasion was the Thank You Meet of ‘Oopiri. Veteran film maker Dasari Narayana Rao was one of the guests at the event. “15 years back, I watched ‘Bommarillu’. I felt this was one film which brought great esteem to Telugu cinema. Now, after ‘Bommarillu’, this ‘Oopiri’ is the great film.”

When people are opinionated that Telugu Film Industry doles out only commercial pot-boilers, ‘Oopiri’ came as a respite to hold the esteem of TFI high says Dasari. He lauded Nagarjuna for the way he used only his eyes to perform and that is only possible with experience for a seasoned actor.

‘Oopiri’, no doubt is a different film for Telugu audiences. But it did as well as a commercial entertainer like ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’. That’s really surprising. Nag’s flair to experiment and accept characters, which no other actor would like to experiment is behind the success of the movies like ‘Annamayya’, ‘Sri Ramadasu’ and ‘Oopiri’ opines Dasari. Well, we too agree, wouldn’t we?
