Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is now very close to creating an unheard record at the Indian box office. According to Pinkvilla trade analyst Jatinder Singh, the film is expected to cross a huge milestone of Rs.100 crore net in a single day (Hindi). On Saturday, it came very close but missed the mark by just by a few crores. Now, all signs suggest that Sunday will comfortably push it past that number.
Early reports from morning and afternoon shows show very strong occupancy, and advance bookings for evening and night shows are already packed. Based on current trends, the film is likely to collect around Rs.105 crore net today, which would be a historic achievement. The growth was expected because Sunday bookings were already higher than Saturday.
Interestingly, Saturday’s slight miss was not because of low interest. In fact, the opposite happened. Many theatres, especially in top-tier cities, were already running houseful during peak hours. This means the film’s earnings were limited by the number of available screens and show timings, not by audience demand. Even with that limitation, the collections were massive.
The biggest boost today is coming from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, and central India (CP-CI), along with surprising growth in West Bengal. These areas were relatively underperforming, but today the collections are fantastic. Meanwhile, regions like Delhi-NCR and Mysore are expected to remain steady because they had already reached maximum capacity on Saturday.
On Saturday, the film had already broken single-day records in most Hindi markets. Only a few areas like West Bengal, Assam, and some southern regions did not hit peak numbers, mainly due to competition from local films and limited screens.
