Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 is on a rampage in North America right now.
With historic momentum building, we are projecting a $4.5M+ day today, which would be the biggest single day in the history of Indian cinema in North America.
As of 12 PM Saturday, the film is already nearing $3M. Hindi films typically see strong walk-ins later in the day, which makes a $4M+ day almost certain. If the trend holds, it could even push toward $4.5M.
This is pure madness, especially considering it is driven by regular $13 ticket prices, making the numbers even more phenomenal.
On the other hand, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is struggling.
It has collected around $42K by noon, taking its total to $637K so far. Based on current trends, it looks unlikely to even touch $1M, which would be a disappointing result for this combination.
There are no real surprises here. The pre-release content had already set the tone, and the box office is reflecting that.
Stay tuned as we continue to track North America trends.
