Ram Gopal Varma has once again praised Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. After consistently supporting the filmmaker, he has now made a bold statement about the sequel. According to him, Dhurandhar 2 will take the film’s impact to a much higher level.
Posting on X on Monday, RGV said Dhurandhar challenged the so called South dominance in Bollywood. He hinted that the sequel will be far more intense. He claimed that if the first film scared audiences, the second part will terrify them.
The makers have not officially revealed details about Dhurandhar 2 so far. However, RGV’s comments have brought the sequel back into public discussion. The film has once again become a topic of industry curiosity and fan debate.
Ram Gopal Varma has repeatedly praised Dhurandhar since its release. He earlier described the film as a monstrous hit that broke away from routine Bollywood storytelling. He also said such films often unsettle industry insiders.
In a previous post, RGV claimed path breaking films make others uncomfortable. According to him, many within the industry struggle to match their scale or quality. Dhurandhar, he said, set a new benchmark in mainstream cinema.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar emerged as one of the biggest box office successes of 2025. The film drew attention for its scale, performances, and storytelling, placing it among the year’s most talked about releases.
Ranveer Singh starred as an undercover agent in the film. Akshaye Khanna received wide praise for his performance as Rehman Dakait. Their roles were seen as key strengths of the film’s narrative and impact.
The ensemble cast also included Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. Strong word of mouth and repeat value helped the film cross Rs 1100 crore worldwide. Released on December 5, it became the highest grossing Indian film of the year.
With Dhurandhar 2 officially in development and a March 2026 release planned, expectations remain high. If RGV’s words are taken seriously, the sequel is expected to be darker, bigger, and more intense than the original.
