Nagarjuna is extremely happy with the way Manam has been received by audiences. Even before the film’s release he said the film was made as a befitting farewell to his father legendary actor Nageswara Rao, who passed away recently. The film has done exceptionally good business and people are talking about it making to the INR 100 crore club, but Nag doesn’t like the film to be compared to numbers.
He said that he doesn’t appreciate the fact the film’s success is compared to numbers. He said never wanted to make this film to make money but only because he wanted to make the film as a tribute to the Akkineni family. That’s precisely why even in the producer’s title of the film it was mentioned the film was produced by the Akkineni family. Meanwhile, Nag is also relieved that Akhil’s debut paid off in the film. He said he was very nervous about choosing the right film to launch him, but when Vikram Kumar came up with this idea, he instantly grabbed it.
He’s extremely happy that Akhil is being compared to the next Mahesh Babu. He admits that also adds a lot of pressure because he has to prove himself to actually stand next to Mahesh.
