Sukumar Writings No More On Priority List

Writer-director Sukumar started his own banner Sukumar writings to promote fresh ideas and unique stories. The first film under this banner was Kumari 21F which turned out to be a super hit.

The last film on this banner was 18 Pages starring Nikhil and Anupama Parameswaran which didn’t impress the audience much. Except for one public appearance, Sukumar didn’t get himself involved in the promotion of this film. He preferred to keep his name a bit disassociated from the project.

Sukumar has become a pan-India director after the success of Puspa – The Rise. It seems he wants his name to be associated with bigger films and bigger projects like SS Rajamouli. He might be feeling a bit insecure to get his name attached to smaller films like 18 Pages which don’t leave any impact.

The next film from the Sukumar Writings banner is the Sai Dharam Tej starrer Virupaksha. We will have to wait and see if Sukumar will come forward to promote this film.
