Director’s Day Dreams About Samantha

30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela marked the debut of Pradeep Machiraju while Tamil actress Amritha Aiyer was introduced to Telugu audience with this film. Director Dhulipudi Phani Pradeep aka Munna has now made an interesting revelation. He revealed that he wanted to cast Samantha Akkineni.

Speaking about the interesting meet up, the filmmaker says, “When I first met Samantha’s manager he gave me a look from top to bottom wondering how Samantha would get conceived. I told the manager that first I would narrate the story to him and if he likes it, then he would narrate it to Samantha”.

Munna said that upon hearing the narration, the manager was teary-eyed. Later he met Samantha and she readily heard his story. Even though she liked the script, she cited unavailability of her dates, following which he scouted another heroine. He says that he saw Samantha in Amritha as long as the shoot happened.

30 Rojullo Preminchadam stood average at the box-office and if not for Neeli Neeli Aakasam, there wouldn’t have been any footfalls either. Looks like the filmmaker is daydreaming about Samantha how he missed a chance to work with her.

It is a norm in the industry for actors to turn down the film politely citing busy schedules as the reason. But the filmmaker failed to infer this part and continues to daydream about Samantha.
