Do or Die Situation For This Writer-Turned-Director

Vakkantam Vamsi is a well-known writer and is credited with various big-time hits like Race Gurram, Kick, etc. Then, the itch (his lifelong dream) of becoming a director caught him and he directed Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India, which had Allu Arjun in the lead. Despite all the hype and star presence of Allu Arjun, the film bombed big time at the box office.

Since then Vamsi is trying to set up his next project but no big hero was interested in signing his film. Though at one time, it was said that he would be doing a film with Tarak, that obviously did not materialize after Naa Peru Surya debacle.

Now, finally, Vamsi has got a nod from Nithiin for his next project. This might be his last attempt to make it big as a director. He can’t afford to deliver a flop or even an average film. He has to deliver a BIG hit this time, no matter what. If this film is not successful then he will have to forget about his career as a director and go back to writing films.

As a writer, his next biggie is Akhil’s AGENT which would release sometime next year in Summer.
