Don’t Compare Me with Shankar – Rajamouli

It’s sorts of reversal roles in the case of the two biggest directors in the Indian Film Industry. When Shankar was the number one director in India by the virtue of the magnum opuses that scored blockbusters, Rajamouli was busy stamping his authority as the most successful director in Tollywood.

‘Baahubali‘ came and everything changed. Bollywood has embraced Baahubali with open hands. So, comparisons between Shankar and Rajamouli are bound to happen. But, Rajamouli isn’t comfortable with the comparisons as Shankar is one of those directors who introduced VFX into filmmaking when we were far behind regarding the use of technology.

Everyone is expecting ‘Baahubali 2’ to become a huge success. If this happens, with back to back failures from Shankar, the senior director’s ‘2.0’ would be compared to Baahubali part two’s success. There is every scope that Rajamouli is going to stamp his authority further and it would be hard for any director to reach the level. Anyway, Rajamouli is both happy and shy for his name being associated with Shankar.
