Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated sequel Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was finally released in theatres today and is on a rampage at the box office, backed by positive responses from audiences.

As everyone knows, Jailer 2 was not released in North Indian multiplexes because the makers signed a four-week OTT window with Amazon Prime. Due to the massive response from audiences, sources suggest that there is a huge demand for Jailer 2 tickets in North India.

Consequently, trade experts are severely slamming the makers of Jailer 2 for failing to tap into such a huge market. They suggest that, with the current trend, it is evident that Jailer 2 will post a minimum of 30-40 crores in North India and if the makers had released the film in multiplexes, it would have easily crossed the 200-crore mark.

This is because they note that after Pushpa 2, Jailer 2 is the only film to be received by Hindi audiences as a complete commercial entertainer and viewers widely celebrate the cameo appearance of Hrithik Roshan.

They also suggest that with this trend, if Jailer 2 had been released in North Indian multiplexes, 1000 crores would have been a cakewalk for the film. Therefore, they are urging the makers to take immediate action and release the film in North Indian multiplexes.

At the same time, on the BookMyShow ticket booking platform, the Hindi version of Jailer 2 is trending, with more than 5000 tickets being booked per hour.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether the makers of Jailer 2 will take action to release the film in North Indian multiplexes or continue to skip them despite the unreal ticket demand in the following days.
