Dulquer’s latest gangster drama, King Of Kotha, was released this week. The film was projected as a pan-India movie and was released in multiple languages.
Forget about other languages; even in its original Malayalam version, the film is heading to be one of the biggest disasters in recent times. The film has faced outright rejection.
A few weeks ago, Dulquer came up with a crime comedy web series, Guns and Gulaabs, on Netflix. Despite big names and decent reviews, the web series turned out to be a big flop. Not many even gave it a chance.
Dulquer Salmaan is a talented actor who excels in romantic and human drama films. But as of now, he looks like a misfit doing these mass-action roles. It was awkward to see him dancing to an item song in King Of Kotha. He looked bit uncomfortable.
The pan-India success of Pushpa might have prompted him to attempt such roles, but Dulquer lacks the swag to pull off such roles. In his quest to gain bigger stardom, he is even disappointing those who love to see him doing those guy-next-door kinds of characters in which he excels.
Let’s hope better sense prevails and Dulquer chooses his next projects wisely that do justice to his looks and talent and also make his core fandom happy.
