End Of The Road For Powerstar?

Of course, Powerstar Pawan Kalyan has a film with Trivikram Srinivas coming up. It will be huge and will be for sure a record breaker on opening day, and most likely be a huge grosser if the content too is good. But, still is Katamarayudu the end of the road for Powerstar Pawan Kalyan?

Katamarayudu, as we all know, is a film strictly relying on the pull of Pawan Kalyan. Whatever it earns is due to the sheer star power on display. Has this solo star power reached an exhaustion point? Katamarayudu was expected to create opening day records, but it has failed to do so. It has got the third best opening of all time. The number 22Cr, ideally, is good for any star but not enough for Powerstar. He is expected to create a new opening benchmark all the time.

Going forward, it will be even difficult for Pawan Kalyan to get such big numbers if there is no solid combination. Remakes or no that is a different issue, but there has to be a good combo, is the one common grievance of all fans. Will Pawan Kalyan listen to the fans anguish or will remain like an ostrich burying its head deep in the sand is to be seen.

The signs for Katamarayudu’s underperformance were already visible, but the star did not pay heed to and went ahead with it. We have to see if Pawan Kalyan continues to proceed in the same manner in the future.
