Fast against Rajni – Distributors approach High Court

Last year 2014 hadn’t been a good year for superstar Rajnikanth. Two of his prestigious projects ‘Kochadaiyaan’ and ‘Lingaa’ had been declared failures at the box-office. While the court cases regarding ‘Kochadaiyaan’ are still haunting the superstar, ‘Lingaa’ too added to Rajnikanth’s woes list with court cases and controversies.

Latest, four of Tamil Nadu distributors of ‘Lingaa’ had approached court to grant them permission to fast to highlight their losses. These distributors have initially appealed to Madras police requesting permission to hold fast on Rajnikanth and producers. Since the police failed to process their request, these distributors had to approach Madras High Court.

After hearing the distributors plea, court directed police to take decision on granting permission on the fast within 48 hours. The distributors and theatre owners had no option but to go on a fast because neither the superstar nor producer Rockline Venkatesh was willing to talk to them on the losses incurred on them due to the poor performance of ‘Lingaa’.
