Fauzi Exit: Will December 3 Turn into a Three-Way Race?

If Prabhas’ Fauzi really moves out of December 3, the biggest opportunity could go to the other films waiting for a strong release window.

Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma and Dulquer Salmaan’s Sri Sri are looking to lock that date. Vishwak Sen’s Legacy has already announced its release date as December 4. What was expected to be Prabhas’ territory could suddenly become a three-way race.

December 3 was a valuable date for Fauzi for a reason. Dhurandhar, Pushpa 2, and Animal all used the first week of December successfully in recent years. For a massive Prabhas film, it looked like an ideal window.

But Fauzi reportedly needs more time. The shoot is still going on, while VFX and post-production need substantial work. At some point, the team has to choose between saving the date and protecting the film.

The bigger problem is finding another date. Spirit is already planned for March 5, 2027, and reports suggest Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Bhushan Kumar do not want to move it. Sankranthi is already jam-packed. Summer is one option, while Dussehra or Diwali could also work for Fauzi. But that would be too much of a delay, and the film could lose some of its freshness and buzz.

For a Prabhas film, a solo release window is almost a must to recover its massive budget. His last film Raja Saab showed how intense competition can make even a Prabhas film crash at the box office. The content was disastrous, but had it released solo, at least the film may not have crashed so badly. A big-budget Prabhas film needs a strong and relatively clean window to maximize recovery, particularly when expectations are enormous.

For Prabhas fans, another delay will be frustrating. Fauzi carries huge expectations around Hanu Raghavapudi’s period drama, with Imanvi as the female lead, a strong Bollywood cast, and music by Vishal Chandrasekhar.

So, the real question is where Fauzi can go next without entering another massive box-office war. Or will Spirit have to move to make way for Fauzi in March?
