Spirit is reportedly undergoing a huge change behind the scenes. According to unverified rumors, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has taken a one-month break from the film and is rewriting its interval block.
The rumor claims that Vanga originally planned an emotional first half in which Prabhas’ character loses his best friend. The interval was reportedly designed as a roughly five-minute sequence filled with grief, aggression and raw emotion. The idea was to end the first half on a huge emotional high and carry that intensity into the second half.
However, the claim suggests that Vanga was not satisfied with the intensity Prabhas brought to the sequence. Instead of rushing ahead, he is said to have decided to redesign the entire block to suit Prabhas’ strengths.
Vanga is known for building his films around highly charged emotional and dramatic sequences. The interval is particularly important in a commercial film of this scale. If the existing version was not delivering the impact he wanted, rewriting it could ultimately benefit Spirit. It is better to rework a crucial sequence than rush ahead with something the director himself is not convinced about.
But another development has added more concern around the project.
Vanga’s production Romanchakam released today and received negative reviews. The film has surprised many because Vanga is known for understanding the pulse of today’s youth and creating films with strong impact.
The question now is how someone behind cult hits like Arjun Reddy and Animal could produce a film that many viewers found lifeless and unexciting. It has also led to questions about whether there has been a change in his script sense.
That naturally creates some concern about Spirit. If the writing itself is going through major changes, fans will wonder whether Vanga is struggling to find the right material for Prabhas.
However, the reports about Vanga rewriting Spirit remain just rumors. There is no official confirmation about this development.
Also, it would be premature to judge Vanga’s writing and sensibilities based on one Romanchakam. One film can go wrong, even for a filmmaker with a strong track record.
For now, the real test is Spirit. If Vanga is indeed reworking the film, fans will hope these changes make Prabhas’ character and the overall film much stronger.
