Film Association Rejects Governments Guidelines, Challenging Times Ahead

After more than two and a half months, things are slowly coming to normal concerning the film industry. As we all know, the showbiz industry is among the worst affected due to the lockdown.

The Telugu film industry commenced its recovery process with the resumption of post-production works. Noted senior actor Naresh has started dubbing for his role in the upcoming Sai Dharam Tej starrer Solo Brathuke So Better.

The Kerala government has been the first in the country to give permissions for film industry-related works. It allowed post-production activities long back and now the shootings too. The Kerala film industry has decided to first complete the holdovers before beginning the new ones.

However, when it comes to Hindi film industry, the unique conditions given by the Maharashtra government to resume shooting have put them in a quandary. The Indian Film And Television Directors Association have written to the government to reconsider a couple of guidelines which states no one above sixty-five years can work and the mandatory presence of doctor and nurse at the shooting stop.

We have to see how the government of Maharashtra reacts to these suggestions. In Tamil Nadu, when initial permission with conditions proved to be incompatible with shooting, it was modified accordingly.

The bottom-line across all the industries is that there will be a lot of practical problems initially. No one knows the right and safe process to resume the work like pre-corona days. Let’s see how the Telugu film industry adjusts and moves ahead in this situation.
