Four times increase in Gannavaram Air Traffic!

The Capital announcement near Thullur has benefited Gannavaram Airport immensely. The air traffic from this airport increased by four times in the last six months. Only 350 passengers per day used the airport in last October and now it has increased up to 1400 passengers per day.

Earlier there used to be 10 services, sensing the demand, the services were increased to 22 per day. Air India, Aircosta and Spicejet are operating flights here. There are flights to all major cities in India except Mumbai. A service to Mumbai is currently being planned.

In order to accommodate the growing needs, the state government and Airport Authority of India focused on the modernization of the airport. A new terminal with modern facilities in planned and is expected to complete in the next 17 months. 103 Crores of funds were allocated to it. Increasing of carpet area, conveyor belts, ATM, money deposit machines, expansion of parking facility, prepaid taxis are being planned.
