According to trade pundits, not even 10 percent of the 349 Telugu films released have been successful. This number is proof to the fact we are giving preference to quantity over quality. Apparently, the success rate of Telugu industry has stopped to all time low, while Tamil and Malayalam film industries have shown some improvement in the last twelve months.

Experts say that making a film today is easier because the production cost has drastically come down. DIgital filmmaking has made the process of filmmaking easier, but distribution of films has become a threat to newcomers in the industry. If you’re film doesn’t have the backing of a top producer or distributor, it’s very unlikely you’re film will ever see the light of the day. Even today, hundreds of films are waiting to be released. If we’re really bothered about the economics of filmmaking, one shouldn’t proud with the quantity of films but instead look at quality.
