US BO: GG Living Up To The Hype

Ever since the first song was a success, there was a massive craze for the movie Geetha Govindam. We had reported in the past how the distributors were betting big on Vijay Deverakonda starrer in the US. Well, the film is living up to its billing and how.

Unlike the Telugu states, where there is a shortage of theatres, there is no such problem in the US. Geetha Govindam is getting a wide release, and the numbers are expected to be in sync with it. The trade is confident that it would be the highest opener among the second league heroes, this year, bettering Nani’s, Krishnarjuna Yuddham ($164 K from Premiers).

While crossing this year’s highest and personal best Arjun Reddy ($194 K) would be easy, the real challenge would be going past the best second-tier starrer premiere collections, which is again with Nani’s Middle Class Abbayi at $304K. Given the current pace at which the booking is happening that could also be overtaken feels analysts.
